Connecticut lawmakers have passed legislation benefiting film and digital media, resulting in a dramatic increase in major motion pictures being filmed in the state. For years, Connecticut has had a respectable electronic media industry. How will digital media fit into Connecticut’s workforce now and in the future? The key is how it communicates with the user.
Whether the communication is via traditional video, iPhone, DVD, web-streaming, videogame, interactive kiosks, e-book, digital television, or perhaps soon kitchen appliances and the clothes you wear, digital media is a growing industry and content is still king. The roundtable, moderated by Guy Ortoleva, will include Charles Miller of the Connecticut OWC, Steve Lovelace of Moving Pictures, Ted Maynard of the Media Arts Center, Paul Verbitsky from Blue Chip Films, Michael Mino and representatives from ESPN and Quinnipiac University (Mike Calia).
