Welcome back MCAICT Members! I hope your summer was as relaxing, productive and refreshing as possible! Now that September is here it’s time to gear up for a new year of MCAICT professional development Meetings, Events, and Projects. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie Boss, our former president, for his hard work and dedication to the group over the past two years. As our Chapter was struggling to survive he stepped up to the plate and made it possible for us to have the promising future we see today. This year, your board has created an agenda that is jam packed with Professional Development topics. We always welcome your input and suggestions. Please feel free to contact any and all members of the board, and attend board meetings on the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm (contact me for location information). I hope to see you at MCAICT events and meetings throughout the year, and hear from you through submissions to our website and newsletter. All member meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month. However this year will be working with a truncated schedule to be able to provide more informative and efficient meetings. Please note these dates on your calendar (the topics may change, so please visit our website and newsletters for updates):
Non-MCAICT members are welcome to any and all meetings and events. There is a $10 non-member fee at the door. Board meetings will be held last Tuesday of the month at 6:30. Join in on the Demo DVD Project Initiative for an inexpensive way to get your demo out to thousands of potential clients! We have been talking about the Demo DVD Project all last year and now it’s time to make it happen. It’s just another way MCAICT is working hard for our membership. The project’s objective is to create a one-stop demo for all professional media needs. The target audience for the Demo DVD will be a slue of Businesses, Corporations, Advertising Agencies and any other professional group that have a need for media professionals such as ourselves. The Demo DVD will include Demo Reels from all participating members of MCAICT. You must be a member to participate. Submissions must be delivered by the set due date (TBD) for the project to be ready in a timely fashion. Submission specs and information will be discussed at our September 12th meeting. We will be discussing the Demo DVD project in more detail at our Kick-Off Meeting, September 12, 2006 @ 6:30 to be held at HB Communications, New Haven. | |||||||||||||||
Just when you thought it was too late to participate in this year’s MCAICT we came up with more ways you can add your ideas, experience, and 2 cents to the group! MCAICT thrives when its members thrive. The group depends on each one of its members to make it as useful and efficient as possible. Give us your input through our many venues: New and Improved Website - Now you can submit links to articles of interest that you bump into on the web doing your own surfing. Just email the link to your communications officer, Osi Korn, & look for your link the next day … it will be posted on MCAICT’s website! If you want to tell us about your own experience on a certain topic, feel free to send an article to Osi as well. You could make “front page” news on our website! Submit to: osi@mcaict.org Newsletter Tech Tips – What’s a tech tip? Tech tips are your thoughts, experience and skills on a topic that interests you! It’s all about YOU! Send Osi a paragraph or two about your experience on a shoot, edit session, work with new technology or skill set. We are interested in what you have hidden in your noggin! Submit to: osi@mcaict.org Member Profiles – Strut your stuff on the Newsletter! We profile one member every newsletter by posting a photo and contact information along with a bio. This is just one of the ways that you have FREE publicity through MCAICT. Take advantage of this great way to get your face out there to potential co-workers! Submit to: osi@mcaict.org Member Highlights – We want to know when good things happen to you, Business or Personal! Get nominated for an award? Did you win? New baby/Grandchild? Let us know! We will post your good news on the website and newsletter! MCAICT is not only a professional group, it’s a family of industry professionals. We shout your good news from the roof tops of MCAICT! Submit to: osi@mcaict.org Ad Space in Newsletter and Website – MCAICT has created room for members to post ads in the Newsletter and on the Website for an affordable way to network. Slots are limited so contact gulnar@mcaict.org for specs. Website: Make your business visible to other MCAICT Members and visitors to the website by posting an ad! Cost for the website ad is $20/month. Newsletter: There are also slots in the newsletter for your Ad! Get visible, for only $10/month. MCAICT is a membership driven not-for-profit. We thrive as a group when our membership grows. This year we hope to double our membership and that means getting our name out there to your friends and co-workers, up and coming professionals in College and University, and Independents who have not yet heard of the benefits of MCAICT. Invite your friends and co-workers to join MCAICT during meetings and events. Send them to our website and help your chapter grow and thrive.
