Gulnar Jeffereis Receives Shining Star Award

Our MCAICT President, Gulnar Jeffereis, is one of six media professionals selected from across the country to receive this year’s MCA-I International Shining Star award.

Gulnar has served as the MCA-I Connecticut Chapter Treasurer for four years and is currently the Chapter President. John Ferrante, Chapter Secretary explains, “During the last three years Gulnar has taken it upon herself to plan and schedule meetings, personally procure and buy refreshments, taken the lead in establishing our website – and serving as the Webmaster Liaison – and generally does whatever needs to be done in addition to the duties of Treasurer, and now President.” Ferrante adds, “This past year, Gulnar played a heavy supporting role in the production of our Chapter Media Resource Guide – a DVD showcasing the skills of many of our members.”

"This year's nominations included many outstanding candidates," according to MCA-I Shining Star Committee Chair and International Membership Director Clare Rabe-DeBoever. "They serve as a shining example of the dedicated volunteer spirit that has made MCA-I the successful professional organization that it is today."

The Shining Star Awards (www.mca-i.org/en/rel/?797) will be presented at the 39th Annual MCA-I Media Festival awards ceremony in Milwaukee, WI on Saturday evening, Sept. 22, 2007.

The MCA-I International Shining Star service awards program recognizes chapter leaders who have made significant contributions to the chapter. These leaders stand out above all of the rest of the members, demonstrating service to their MCA-I chapter without regard to personal gain or profit. Know a leader who stands out in your chapter? Then be sure to nominate them for next year's awards.
