The October 9th meeting of MCAICT, to be held at HB Group www.hbrentals.com in North Haven, will focus on accounting and tax issues for media professionals. Representatives from Kostin, Ruffkess & Company, LLC, www.kostin.com an MCAICT member company of business advisors and public accountants, will explain some useful accounting and planning techniques that will help you organize your business and show you how you can pay less tax!

We all realize that communication is key! So, we want to keep you updated on MCAICT programming and news, but not bombard you with too many e-mails. So here’s our plan: You’ll receive four e-mail blasts starting three weeks before the monthly meeting, with the last one arriving the day before the meeting. The e-mail blast will have a brief description and the time, place, and details. Our newsletter, with a meeting announcement along with more articles, will be sent every other month during the first week of the month. Issues are planned for October, December, February, April and June. If you have news you would like to contribute, please e-mail it to: dploch@snet.net. We welcome your input and comments.

About 45 industry professionals attended the MCAICT kick-off meeting held on Tuesday, September 11, at Palace Production Center in South Norwalk to hear four panelists talk about reinventing yourself. Participants also re-connected with industry friends and networked with new acquaintances over a supper buffet between tours of the Palace facility. Click here to see photos from the event. President Gulnar Jeffereis introduced the new board members and outlined programming plans for upcoming meetings. Gulnar was recognized for her selection as a recipient of the MCA-I International Shining Star award. She is one of six media professionals selected from across the country to receive this honor and attended the 39th Annual MCA-I Media Festival awards ceremony in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 22 to receive it.
